Lovely place, excellent food. Every tapas dish we had was special in its own way. A new favourite, we'll be back. Only thing that didnt wow me was the weird art on the walls: painting of a stag, with sparkles?! Photo of leaning tower of Pisa in a Spanish restaurant?! Odd.
First of all the initial experience when arriving was superb. Waiters and waitresses couldn’t do enough for us. Food was delicious and at good prices. Would recommend and will definitely be returning.
First time visiting The Rake. We were looking for a local tapas restaurant to celebrate a special occasion. They were really accommodating when or numbers changed. We wanted a full evening out and that's what we had, lovely food and plenty of it. Served as it was cooked, no rush and great service for drinks. Two of our party chose the butchers board from the special menu. The steak looked amazing and was fantastic value for the food they received.
Fantastic Tapas. Good sized portions. Good choice of drinks as it’s a “free house”. We’re definitely visiting again & also bought a voucher for a family members birthday wine good. Cocktails good. Brandy was great!!

Upon walking in the atmosphere was absolutely amazing! Such a gorgeous restaurant. The staff are super friendly and helpful. The room was very warm, the nice lady had made sure it was cosy and warm ready for us arriving. The food- where to begin?! The flavours and portion size we can’t fault it at all. Really enjoyed it. Our room was really nice and the bed was very comfy. We will come back again I’m sure of it!
Special mention to Terry & mags. Both were very polite, friendly & couldn't do enough to make sure we felt welcome. Would definitely return because these two made our visit special. to top it off the food was delicious.
One of the best meals ever.. update 1st April 2022 - still the same, best meal within miles, great service. Ps. They've started doing breakfast now on a Sunday too!
